OCLF and Indira Cancer Trust have partnered in the Sponsor-A-Child project to provide scholarships to low-income children of parents with cancer.

As an organization which promotes education and empowering youth, we have seen firsthand the transformative power of education in the lives of young individuals. We are acutely aware of the significant barriers that low-income children in Sri Lanka face in accessing quality education, a situation made even more dire by a parent with a cancer diagnosis. 

How you can help 

1. Sponsor a child by donating $ 140.00 to cover the scholarship cost from October 2023 to December 2024. (Scholarship recipients received SLR 2,000 / month and SLR 5,000 at the beginning of the year to purchase school supplies). 

2. Contribute any amount over $ 5.00 to delinquent fund to cover the cost of existing scholarships that are not funded due to various reasons.

 We understand the importance of responsible stewardship of funds and are committed to providing transparent and accountable reporting on the use and impact of your donation. We will keep you updated on the progress of our scholarship recipients and provide detailed financial reports as needed.

We will send you the information about the student including a picture and contact information. You are welcome to contact the scholarship recipient at your will.
